Project Description
ARGANS Limited, as lead of the Climate Change Initiative (CCI+) Sea Surface Salinity consortium, aim to develop and validate algorithms to approach requirements of the Global Climate Observing System (GCOS) Salinity Essential Climate Variable (ECV) and meet the wider requirements of the Climate Community (i.e. long term, consistent, stable, uncertainty characterised) global satellite data products from multi-sensor data archives. The intention is to build a production system to generate the longest time-series of satellite-derived sea surface salinity, combining data from SMOS, Aquarius and SMAP reaching back to 2002.
